Apologies for my lack of dedication to blogging.
The past couple of weeks for me have had my emotions running.
I can't explain to you how my past two weeks have been.
Bad things don't happen in threes for me,
oh no, they surely happen in hundreds.
But I'm back, trying to make it through another Monday.
----
I'm trying to keep my mood on the sunny side this week.
This can be difficult when you have a few bad days under your belt.
I thought I'd share with you all some quotes that have been helping
me get through my terrible case of the Mondays, and shake off my bad mood.
1.) Life may not be the party we hoped for, but while we're here, we should dance.
-Unknown
I take this as our life doesn't always go the way we plan it out.
Bad days, weeks, and even months happen.
My mom constantly reminds me, "God's laughing at your plans right now."
You never know what is in store for us, good memories and tough lessons as well.
But it's you're attitude that truly defines the people we are.
Take everything with a grain of salt (add on a slice of lemon and a shot of tequila if you must)
Rejoice that you are where you are today, and celebrate it.
2.) Nothing ever goes away until it teaches us what we need to know.
-Unknown
Everything happens for a reason, including the off days.
And it can be a major pain in the butt, and down right exhausting,
if we don't know what that reason is from the very beginning.
But eventually, everything becomes clearer.
A lot of my lessons, truth be told, come from my sometimes lack of motivation,
and my true talent of procrastination that tends to take over my life.
Whether big or small, a lesson is a lesson.
3.) I am learning everyday to allow the space between where I am and where I want to be to inspire me, not terrify me.
-Tracee Ellis Ross
This one hits be right in the stomach.
I'm a college senior, when in the world did this happen? No clue, beats me.
I swear I'm suppose to still be in high school, middle school even.
(I mean, let's be real, I'm short enough)
A lot of my anxiety this week has been partly due to my mind being consumed
with thoughts of the future and what I'm going to do after graduation.
It really does terrify me that as of right now, I don't know what direction I want my life to take.
But like the quote states, I want it to be more of an inspiration rather than a fear.
I have some time to still find my passions and develop from there.
It's keeping that calm state of mind that's going to be the ultimate challenge.
4.) Faith is taking the first step even when you don't see the whole staircase.
-Martin Luther King
I've been taking a whole lot of chances lately,
some that have definitely taken me completely out of my comfort zone.
I attribute a lot of my recent chances lately to my blogging.
I have been writing (journals, short stories, poems) all my life, and I've never shared.
I always kind of hid away my thoughts and feelings.
When I started blogging, I had no idea where this crazy adventure would take me,
what I would get involved in, what I would tell a tale about.
I honestly wasn't thinking of the long term, but I'm glad I took that first step.
It's opened up a completely new world to me, and a different view on myself.
And it's making me realize I need to start taking more chances in my life,
even if I don't see what it means for me in the long run.
5.) If you stumble, make it part of the dance.
-Unknown
Coming full circle here with this quote.
Like I said, bad moments happen. But that doesn't mean it's a bad life.
Take what is given to you, and start rolling with the punches.
This piece of advice is the hardest for me to stick by and remember.
When something disappointing happens, I let it affect my entire day,
instead of just reminding myself that it's all going to be alright in the end.
Again, everything happens for a particular reason,
and everything will become clearer in time.
Just dance, have fun, and know that you're not alone either.
You may stumble, but there's always going to be someone there to pull you up.

Yes, I've had some annoying things pop up in the schedule this week,
and yes, I felt like something kept happening again and again, with no end in sight.
But those days (weeks) are going to happen, just embrace them.
Not everything can be perfect.
