5 Ways To Put Me in a Better Mood

So I have not done a weekend round up in a while.
There's a few reasons for this.
One, I haven't done much except eat, (barely) sleep, and go to my internship.
And two, I have had two weeks of hell.

Excuse my french, but it is necessary.

You know how they say bad things happen in threes,
well mine kept happening one after the other,
with absolute no sign of stopping.

It has been a miserable two weeks for me
and that is unfortunately no exaggeration.
I will spare you the details of my woes.
Mostly because, this blog is suppose to be my retreat,
not my daily diary, like most people on Facebook seem to get confused.
Don't get me started on that.
But just know that:
A. I was done with life
B. I was barely sleeping
C. I cried.

Okay now that that's over with,
because of these dreadful days I've had,
it got me pondering about little things I could do to cheer me up.

And I came up with a list of things that make me feel a little happier
when my days are just treating me like crap.
I thought I would share my methods with you incase you need a little pick-me-up
going into the usual Monday blues tomorrow.
Or if you just need a little cheering up yourself.

----

1.) Go to Target

Obviously shopping was going to make this list.
And what better place to spend money you don't have at Target.
It's my addiction.
I went a few times in the past couple of days,
and trust me, no matter how many times you go,
you can always find something to purchase.
You can't make it out alive without going to the register.
It just happens, and I embrace it.
Pictured above is one of my newest purchases.
(By the dubs, ignore my nails that need a fill-in.)
This is the Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in pearl shade 460,
"Blushing Mauve".
It's actually a little more matte than pearl, but it's a darling dark nude color.
Fun fact: the makeup department is where I usually go first.
But if you're a declared Target connoisseur like myself,
check out the app Cartwheel.
It has daily deals and steals in multiple categories.

2.) Jam Out

What better way to feel happier than turning on your music loud,
and singing at the top of your lungs?
Only me? Okay, embarrassing.
But it's what I do. No ragrets.

Here are some songs I've been jamming to lately.
All of them just make me happy,
and that's all I can ask of a song when I'm feeling down in the dumps.
(Hint hint: click the album cover)

3.) Watch Cat Videos
Alright, yup, bring on the judgement.
I can take it.
But seriously,
cute cats in videos you can watch over and over...
what could be better?
Cuddling with Izzy makes days better as well.

Here's two of my favorites.
Please enjoy.

4.) Read

Reading is my personal way of getting out of my life,
even if just for a moment,
and stepping into what seems like another world.
Now whether this means reading a novel, the news, or online blogs,
(check out my favorite reads post here!)
I love just taking a minute to myself,
and flipping through some pages.
Posted above are some of my current summer reads that I love.
Cute and light, perfect for the summer time.

5.) Dying My Hair

I like change, I actually do.
Some things are better left the same, but I've never been scared to change
major aspects of my life.
That includes dying my hair.
When I feel as if I have lost momentary control of my life,
I turn to the hair dye and watch it transform me.
When I have a fresh do, no one can mess with me.
Currently trying to get a hair appointment scheduled to take my hair dark and fabulous.

Fun Fact: I am a brunette that use to be bleach bleach blonde.

Sometimes, when your bad day turns into bad weeks,
it's hard to keep in mind that it's not a bad life.
So having your own methods of turning your frown upside down
is always a good tool to have in your back pocket.

I hope this short list inspires you to make your own.
Whether that's exercising, cooking, baking, watching Netflix, etc.
Find what makes your days turn around.

This upcoming week is about to be crazy but exciting!
And I'm so pumped to actually have a weekend round up for y'all next Sunday!
I'm going back to the Bee Gee (finally!!)

And as always,
