Year Three. (featuring FletchTop)

Today I'm genuinely happy because FletchTop and I are celebrating three years. Three years is a long time of learning, laughing, fun time, moments of test, and love, and so excited to have spent three years with a man that not only has made me a better person, but has become my best friend. It's been an interesting three years, a good one for sure, and I'm ready to see what happens in year three and the years to come. 

I wanted to not only take the moment to acknowledge this day, but I wanted to do something fun!... and maybe put Fletch on the spot a little bit. So instead of writing a general sappy post about the handsome fellow by my side for three years now (one that I've actually written before), I decided to bring in Mr. Fletcher Keel himself for this post. I put our relationship to the test.... and possibly at risk for this one. I made Fletcher take the Boyfriend/Girlfriend tag that likes to make it rounds on the internet to see how much he knows, well, your's truly.

Like I said, you learn a lot in three years. Want to know how well he did? Yeah, me too.

I present to you his answers, with my commentary on the side.

Fletcher's Answers:

1. Where did we meet? 

"We formally met on the campus of Western Kentucky University. We had a handful of classes together second semester of our freshmen year, and we first had a conversation in Meteorology (on my birthday), and after class, we walked down the Hill together for our first "true" conversation. But, it was easier than most true conversations, because we had communicated on twitter for the entire first semester beforehand. So, it was like I knew her already."

-Side note: I was the one that sparked that conversation, and we only walked down the hill together because he kicked in the back of knees and I gracefully almost face-planted. So he's lucky I've kept him.

2. Where was our first date?

"I went to a volleyball tournament earlier that day and went to work on a project right quick afterwards, and while there, I asked if she wanted to go to Toots. And we did, and it was awesome (it was also the first time Georgia and Missouri played as SEC opponents in football. Don't ask why I remember that, but I do)."

-Obviously I wasn't the focus that evening. Insert emoji giving shade.

3. When did you meet the family?

"She met my family the weekend we were "official." She came down to visit me in Atlanta, and her first full day there, my family came back from Dallas on a mission trip. I first met her family the weekend before our Fall Break of our Sophomore year. We went to Cincinnati one weekend to hang, and that's where I met her father and mother and some aunts & uncles."

4. Do I have any weird obsessions, if so - what?

"I don't know if I'd call it an obsession, but you do enjoy Chuck Bass a lot. A lot. A looooot. You also can be obsessed with a song if its super stuck in your head ("I think that I found myself a cheerleader..."). I don't think I'd call your fascination with shoes an "obsession," but you do love your pillows."

-I think this is where I wanted to start crying reading these answers because this is so scary accurate. Like he either actually does pay attention to me, or got lucky. Either way, bravo.

 
5. How long have we been together?

"Three years TODAY!"

6. Do you have a tradition with your gf/bf? 

"When we make a pinky promise, we lock pinkys and then kiss our hands."

-Yes, we're lame. Deal people. Does this make him a keeper though?

7. What was our first road trip?
"The trip to Cincinnati. Later that week we took a trip down to Atlanta. The first road trip we ever did to not-home was to Columbus, OH to watch the Blue Jackets (which we've done a couple of times)."

-Because of him, I have an appreciation for a good game of ice hockey.

8. What is my favorite restaurant? 

"Mexican."

9. What do we argue about the most? 

"What to watch on Netflix."

-Literally. He's still trying to get me to watch House of Cards. Yes, I know. I haven't watched it. I'll just go crawl in a hole until you get over it.

10. Who wears the pants in the relationship? 

"Neither of us. If you know what I'm saying. But realistically, you do, but not because I'm whipped (although, I kind of am). You just have a more dominant personality. And that's a-okay."

-At least he admits it.

11. If I am watching tv what am I watching?
"Food Network. If you could pick a Food Network show, it would be either Chopped or Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives."

-It really is an addiction.

12. What is one food I do not like? 

"Red-meat (even though you like it sometimes). You also don't like Sweet Tea - which, yes, isn't a food, but it still applies."

13. What drink do I order when we go out to eat?

"If you're not feeling well, or it's been a little bit, you'll get a Coke. If we go to Cheddars, you'll get a strawberry lemonade (It might not be that - it's been a while since we've been to Cheddars). You actually do really well with ordering water at most places though."

 
14. What size shoe do I wear?

"Either a 6, 6 1/2 or 7. They're all the same size to me, though."

-It's actually 5 1/2 or a 6, but I'll take it.

15. What is my favorite kind of sandwich? 

"Grilled cheese, Lexxie style."

-Because there's no other way.

16. What is one talent I have? 

"You can sing really well."

-I originally asked him if this was sarcasm, and laughed. He told me it wasn't. I felt bad.

17. What would I eat everyday if I could? 

"Mexican."

-Yes, it's a problem. I can't stop whenever I want, but I don't want to.

18. What is my favorite cereal? 

"Honey Comb?"

-Holla for knowing that.

19. What is my favorite music?

"Matchbox 20. Your favorite type of music is Top 40/pop."

-Always, forever favorite band. Insert praise hands emoji.

20. What is my favorite sports team? 

"Cincinnati Bengals."

21. What is my eye color? 

"Very purdy blue."

-Thanks, bae. Your eyes are prettier though.

22. Who is my best friend? 

"Me! And Katie."

-This basically means they know all my secrets, including the embarrassing ones so I'm screwed if they end up leaving.

23. What is something you do that I wish you didn’t?

"Make inappropriate jokes a lot. And that thing I do when I clear my throat. Oh, and spit."

24. Where am I from? 

"Northern KY, even though you were born in Ohio. Cincinnati, for all of them."

25. What kind of cake would you bake me on my birthday?

"Cheesecake."

26. What can I spend hours doing? 

"Reading, playing with Izzy, being with me, Pinteresting, watching Netflix."

-I'm simple and lame, what can I say? Hashtag love that grammy life.

27. If I could live anywhere, where would it be?

"Charleston, South Carolina."

And if all his correct answers didn't make me happy enough, it ended with this: 

"I love you Lexxie. These three years have been the da bomb diggity (giggity), and I can't believe it has been just that - three years!"

Here's my quick sappy note to you, Fletcher.

I want you to know that you're the one I didn't know I needed, or even asked God for. But he's placed you to fill a spot that no one else can. Because of you, I laugh more, I smile more, I learn more, and I've become more myself, and more comfortable with myself, as well. That's one of the most important things you've done for me. You're the one I wish to spend all my best moments with, and I guess that's really know when you love someone, when you can't experience anything without wishing the other was there too. I'm glad that I have found you, because how often do you find a person that admires your little weird habits, puts up with your off moments, and still can say that they love you at the end of the day? You're one heck of a guy, good lookin'. Lets make year three the best one yet.
